Ghana-UAE Collaboration to Build AI and Innovation Hub
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Ghana and the UAE have teamed up to create a major tech and innovation hub. The “Ghana-UAE Innovations and Technology Hub” is set to make Ghana a leader in artificial intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies. Over 11,000 global tech companies, including Microsoft, Meta, Oracle, IBM, and Alphabet, are expected to be part of the initiative.

Located in Ningo-Prampram, a district in the Greater Accra Region, the hub will cover 25 square kilometers. It will provide AI engineering, machine learning, BPO, and KPO services tailored to meet Africa’s growing data demands. The UAE’s Ports, Customs, and Free Zone Corporation (PCFC) will fund the first phase, working with AI experts from Dubai.

Ghana’s Minister of Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George, stressed that the hub will unite investment and creativity. He emphasized that Ghana aims to lead the digital world, not merely follow it.

PCFC Chairman Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem highlighted the importance of the project, noting, “Wealth is not measured by gold or oil but by the ability to generate, implement, and scale ideas.” The hub will drive innovation, create jobs, and spur economic growth across Africa.

This initiative marks a key step in establishing Ghana as a tech powerhouse in Africa. With growing international interest in the country’s vibrant tech ecosystem, this hub is set to make Ghana a leader in global technological development.
