A broad alliance of New York City law enforcement unions is expected to endorse Mayor Eric Adams this week, providing a notable boost to his independent re-election campaign. The campaign announcement is anticipated at a City Hall press conference on Thursday, July 17th.
The group, calling itself the NYC Uniformed Forces Coalition 2025, includes most of the city’s key uniformed services unions. Among them are the Correction Officers’ Benevolent Association, Detectives’ Endowment Association, Sergeants Benevolent Association, Lieutenants Benevolent Association, and the Captains Endowment Association.
Campaign spokesperson Todd Shapiro said the endorsements signal confidence in Adams’ leadership, particularly on public safety issues. He cited Adams’ stance that New Yorkers can achieve both safety and justice simultaneously.
